Placer County's hauler runs a bulky item curbside pickup, and it's worth a look first. For a load that program doesn't cover, send him the photo instead. Garbage from eastern Placer County is sorted at a regional Materials Recovery Facility, and what can't be recycled goes to Lockwood Landfill in Nevada. His loads take a different road. What can be donated goes to Goodwill first, metal goes to a scrap yard, and the real trash ends up at the Carson City landfill or the Stead landfill. For old tires you are getting rid of on your own, the county says waste tires go to landfills and solid waste facilities or to a registered waste tire hauler.
