Dominic runs Reno Tahoe Junk Removal and handles appliance removal & disposal in Reno and the rest of the Reno-Tahoe area. The job is getting the big machines out of your house: the old fridge, the washer that quit, the dryer, the stove, the dishwasher, the water heater. Text a photo to (775) 316-7470. What sets this apart from a general pickup is weight packed into a small box. An appliance is heavy and has no good place to grab, and it often sits somewhere tight, like a laundry closet or the bottom of a basement stair.
Maybe your new fridge shows up Thursday and the old one still hums in the kitchen. Maybe you manage a rental with a dead range in a unit between tenants. Some calls are one dead dryer and some are a full laundry room. He works with a helper, Jake, so a fridge with a basement stair in the way is a two-man carry, and he gets there same day, most days. The lifting is the part you hand off.
An appliance is often one piece of a bigger clear-out. If the whole garage or a spare room is going, the page on house and garage cleanouts covers that kind of day. Old TVs and computers have their own page under electronic waste removal and disposal. Reno Tahoe Junk Removal has been hauling since 2023 under the line "No job too big or too small," and a lone dryer fits that line fine.

Which appliances can you haul out of my house?
Most of the big ones in a home can go. Fridges and freezers, washers and dryers, stoves, dishwashers, microwaves and water heaters all come up on this kind of job. A washer, a dryer and a garage freezer can all leave together in one trip.
The difference from hauling a pile of bags is that the weight sits in one awkward box with no good handholds. A full-size fridge has to come back through a doorway it was squeezed into years ago. A front-load washer is dense for its size. That is why the photo matters here. It shows the machine and the path it has to travel to get outside.
How much does appliance removal cost in Reno?
Jobs start at $80. You send a photo of the appliance and where it sits, and Dominic prices the whole job from that, or comes out to look in person when the job needs it. What moves the price is the space your load fills on the truck. A lone dishwasher fills a corner of it, and a laundry room plus a garage freezer fills a lot more.
Loading, hauling and disposal are inside that price. Dump fees never show up as a separate charge. His rule on the quote is short. Unless the haul proves bigger than what your picture showed, the quote holds. So if there is a second fridge in the garage, put it in the photo.
Does the fridge have to be at the curb before pickup?
No. It can stay right where it is, even down in the basement, and he brings it out of the house. Stairs and narrow doorways are part of the job, and the photo you send lets him see them before the day.
It starts with a text or a call. He'll want to know which machines are going, maybe see a picture, and then he either prices it or picks a time to look in person. Say yes to the number and he books a day and an hour, then arrives when he said he would. Before anything moves, he explains the work. With the machine gone, he cleans the floor where it stood and takes a last walk through the room. If you manage a rental, you book the unit the same way.
Where does an old washer or fridge go after it leaves?
Donation comes first, so an appliance that can be used again goes to Goodwill when it can. A machine that has quit is mostly metal, so it heads to a scrap yard for recycling. Whatever is left that nobody can use or melt down ends up at the Stead landfill or the one in Carson City.
Leftover paint cans on the shelf above the washer can come too. Paint goes to Greymar for disposal, and a can runs $10 to $20. If there is a stack of other stuff by the machine, the guide to what goes on the truck shows what else fits on the same trip.
How far will you drive to pick up an appliance?
Up to 75 miles for a job. He is based in Reno, in Washoe County, and the towns he covers run from Truckee and the lake, like South Lake Tahoe, Incline Village and Kings Beach, out to Fernley and Fallon, and down to Carson City, Dayton, Minden and Gardnerville.
Smaller spots like Virginia City, Silver City, VC Highlands and Hidden Valley are covered too. Before you text, look over every town on his route to make sure yours is on it. A dead freezer at a lake cabin gets handled the same way as one in a Sparks garage. Text a photo to (775) 316-7470.
