Dominic handles 20-yard dumpster rental in Reno and the rest of the Reno-Tahoe area, for projects that make more junk than one load can hold. Text a photo to (775) 316-7470 and say what the project is. A dumpster works differently from a haul-away. With a haul-away, everything gets loaded and hauled off in one visit. With the dumpster, it sits at your place for the week and you fill it as the work goes.
If the whole pile is already sitting there, a week of dumpster may be more than you need, and junk removal is the better fit. On a haul-away, nothing has to be dragged to the curb first. The pile can come up from the basement or out of the back bedroom. From the photo he can tell you which one suits the job.

What is a 20-yard dumpster good for?
A 20-yard dumpster is for the project that makes debris for days. Most of what fills one comes out of bathroom demolition, kitchen demolition, carpet removal and remodel debris removal. That's old cabinets and countertops from the kitchen, drywall and broken tile from the bathroom, and carpet and pad pulled up in rolls. Watch the tile. Four tons come with the week, and a bathroom's worth of tile and mortar gets heavy faster than it looks.
You're probably doing the work in stages, like gutting a bathroom in the evenings, so you want the box there the whole time. If you're turning a rental unit, the carpet and the leftover closet junk have to be gone before the next tenant moves in. When the job is mostly emptying a house, cleanout dumpster rental fits better.
How much does a 20-yard roll-off dumpster cost?
The 20-yard roll-off rents for $455 for one week, with 4 tons of weight included. If the project runs long, each day past the week is $15. Go over 4 tons and the extra is $95 a ton. So the thing to watch is weight, more than space. A box full of carpet, cardboard and old cabinets stays light. The same box full of tile, plaster and wet yard waste gets heavy fast.
Some jobs are better off loaded and hauled in one visit instead. Those start at an $80 minimum. You send a photo, the price is set by how much room the load takes on the trailer, and it covers the whole job. The quote holds unless the job turns out bigger than the photo showed. He takes cash, credit or debit card, Venmo, Zelle or a check. There's more on how hauling is priced in the junk removal cost guide.
What can't go in the 20-yard dumpster?
Four things don't go in, and they don't go on the trailer either. The list is propane tanks, asbestos, medical or biohazard waste, and anything with bed bugs or pests. A pest problem counts no matter how small, so a mattress or couch with bed bugs stays out of the box too.
On a remodel, asbestos is the one to think about. If you're pulling up old flooring and aren't sure what's in it, send Dominic a photo and ask before any of it goes in the box.
Leftover paint is its own case. Paint he takes goes to Greymar for disposal, and a can runs $10 to $20. Keep it out of the box with the drywall.
Where does the debris from the dumpster end up?
Most of what fills a 20-yard dumpster is real trash, and real trash goes to a landfill, either the one in Carson City or the one in Stead. Drywall scraps, broken tile, old carpet and the bags of mixed junk from a cleanout all head there.
Pull the metal and the good furniture out before they go over the side. Metal he hauls, like old pipe or a bent bike frame, goes to a scrap yard and gets recycled. Furniture that still works goes to Goodwill first, so a decent dresser doesn't need to take up room in your dumpster. Those pieces can go as a separate hauling job, which starts at the $80 minimum.
How does booking and loading a 20-yard dumpster work?
It starts with a text or a call, day or night. You say what the project is and what needs to go, and he may ask for pictures. Once the price is approved, he sets a day and a time for the box and shows up on time. From there it stays at your place for the week while the work goes on.
If some of it is more than you want to move, like a sleeper sofa on the second floor or a dead freezer in the basement, he works with a helper, Jake, and heavy pieces can come down the stairs and out.
Does the dumpster go out to Tahoe and Carson City?
Yes. Dominic is based in Reno, in Washoe County, and works across the Reno-Tahoe area, from Sparks, Stead and Verdi to Carson City, Gardnerville, Fernley and Fallon, and up to Truckee and the towns around the lake. Around the lake, that means South Lake Tahoe, Stateline, Incline Village, Kings Beach and Tahoe City. He also covers Dayton, Washoe Valley, Minden, Virginia City, Silver City, VC Highlands and Hidden Valley. He drives up to 75 miles for a job. Here's every town he drives to for a job.
He works Monday through Saturday, around the clock, and is closed Sunday, so plan the pickup for a day he's working. When a day is set, the arrival window is 30 minutes to one hour.

“I found Dom on Facebook, and he responded within moments. He was at my house within 30 minutes with his dumpster. At the time I didn’t realize that he could help us. I didn’t know what I was going to do was entailing so much that day. But I managed to fill his dumpster with all kinds of stuff. I will be using him again for more projects around my house. One thing I liked is that he gave me a price and he stuck to that price. He was very courteous and prompt. I really appreciate that in young people today when they’re polite and courteous. I will definitely be using Dom again. Thank you Dominic. I really appreciate your help.”
“I had a great experience with Dominic and Reno Junk Removal. Professional, reasonably priced, on time, same day service. My garage was filled with old toxic chemicals from the swimming pool and cans of paint that needed to be properly disposed of. What a relief it was to watch the mess disappear and to know it was not going to have a negative impact on the environment by just going into a landfill. Highly recommended!”
“Great work. Fair price. Easy to work with. Highly recommend.”
