Dominic handles residential junk removal for homes in Reno and the rest of the Reno-Tahoe area. You book it by showing him the pile. Text a photo to (775) 316-7470. This job covers the things a lived-in house collects over the years. Think of the couch in the den, the mattress from the spare room, an old TV and the paint cans stacked on a garage shelf. It can be one piece or a full load, and you keep living in the house the whole time.
That's the difference from the cleanout work on this site. A house or garage cleanout empties a whole space, wall to wall. Here you point at what goes and the rest of the home stays put, so the work moves around the furniture you're keeping. Maybe a new couch just arrived and the old one has to go, or the spare room has turned into storage. If you manage a rental, you can book it between tenants, when a few pieces have to go before the next showing.

From the full list of what goes on the truck: household junk and furniture.
What does residential junk removal usually include?
Mostly furniture and household pieces, pulled from wherever they sit. The usual list is a couch or sectional, a mattress, a TV, a dresser that won't survive another move, a recliner with a broken lever, a box of tangled cords and the paint cans nobody wants to deal with. Some calls are for a single item. Others fill the load with a room's worth of things after a move or a long weekend of sorting.
Heavy and awkward pieces belong here too. Dominic has moved a 1,200 pound grand piano and once hauled 144 mattresses in one day, so a sleeper sofa on the second floor is ordinary work. If the job grows into emptying the garage or every room, it stops being a pickup and becomes a cleanout, and your photo shows him which one you have.
Where does your household junk go after pickup?
Donation comes first. A couch with life left in it, or a dresser whose drawers still slide, heads to Goodwill before anything else is considered. Metal goes to a scrap yard to be recycled, which covers things like old bed frames, a rusted grill or metal shelving. Leftover paint goes to Greymar for disposal. What's truly trash ends up at the Carson City landfill or the Stead landfill.
He does the sorting. You don't have to split the donate pile from the dump pile before pickup day.
How much does residential junk removal cost?
Jobs start at $80, and past that the price follows how much room your load takes on the truck. Loading, hauling and disposal are inside that number, and dump fees are included, so the landfill never shows up as its own charge. For a sense of scale, a couch typically runs $125 to $225 and a mattress $80 to $125.
The quote comes from your photo. When a pile is hard to judge from a picture, he'll come out for an in-person quote instead. Either way it's a quote for the whole job, and his rule on it is plain. The quote holds unless the job turns out bigger than the photo showed. You can pay with cash, credit or debit card, Venmo, Zelle or check. Will he carry furniture down the stairs and out of the house?
Yes. He carries things out from anywhere in the home, so the sofa can stay in the upstairs bedroom and the old freezer can stay in the basement. Nothing has to be at the curb. Dominic works with a helper, Jake.
The steps stay the same at every house. He asks what needs to go and asks for pictures if he needs them. Once you approve the price, he sets a day and time and gives you a 30 minute to one hour arrival window. He explains the work before starting, cleans up the area when the load is out, and does a final walkthrough. If you manage the property, you book it the same way. You send the photo and approve the price.
What won't he haul out of a house?
Four things stay behind. Propane tanks are out, including the one under the grill. So is asbestos, and so is medical or biohazard waste. Anything with bed bugs or pests stays too, which most often means an infested mattress or couch that can't ride with the rest of the load. The grill itself can still go, once the tank is off it.
Leftover paint is a different case. He takes it, typically at $10 to $20 a can. Text a photo to (775) 316-7470.
How far out of Reno will he drive for a household pickup?
Up to 75 miles. He's based in Reno, in Washoe County, and that reach covers Sparks, Stead and Verdi, east to Fernley and Fallon, south through Carson City and Gardnerville, and up to the lake at Incline Village, Truckee and South Lake Tahoe. The list of towns he covers around Reno and the lake has every one.
At a home in Incline Village or Truckee, he still carries the pieces out from the room they're in, upstairs or down. Timing is same day, most days.

“I had a great experience with Dominic and Reno Junk Removal. Professional, reasonably priced, on time, same day service. My garage was filled with old toxic chemicals from the swimming pool and cans of paint that needed to be properly disposed of. What a relief it was to watch the mess disappear and to know it was not going to have a negative impact on the environment by just going into a landfill. Highly recommended!”
“He was responsive on text, gave me a quote from the images I sent, and able to pick up a load of stuff from our garage less than 48 hours after initial contact. Day of he was running late due to another job but texted ahead of time to let me know. Loaded stuff on his own and was off! Great service and a great price. Would definitely recommend.”
“Can’t say enough good things about Reno Junk Removal. Dom is very professional and responsive. He and Tyler came to my house the same day and picked up and hauled off a quarter of a garage worth of cardboard. The amount of time they saved me from trip after trip of taking it all to the dump was well worth the reasonable price. I highly recommend Reno Junk Removal.”
