Dominic of Reno Tahoe Junk Removal handles concrete demolition across Reno and the Reno-Tahoe area, from a cracked slab out back to the steps by the front door. Text a photo to (775) 316-7470 to book it. The pile here is all concrete: a cracked patio slab, an old walkway, the pad a shed or hot tub used to sit on, or the chunks left over from a repair that never got finished. Concrete is heavy, and a small pile weighs far more than it looks.

Concrete work often sits right next to other jobs in the same yard. If the slab is under a deck you want gone as well, deck and fence demolition covers the boards and posts. If the concrete is already broken up and stacked, the job is closer to heavy material hauling. Fit the slab, the deck and whatever else is leaving into one shot, and the price covers all of it.

What counts as a concrete demolition job?

It's any concrete that's in the way and has to come out. That might be a cracked patio slab, a set of crumbling front steps, a walkway that lifted over the years, or the footings from a fence that's already gone. Sometimes it's the pad left behind after a shed or hot tub was pulled. The weight is what sets it apart, and heavy hauls aren't new to him. An old 4,000 pound concrete mixer sits near the top of the list of heavy things he has moved. Any rebar or wire mesh in the slab is kept for a scrap yard. Maybe you're making room for a garden bed, a lawn or a fresh slab someone else is pouring. Or you manage a rental with a heaved walkway out front or broken concrete a past tenant left out back. If a trip hazard by a rental's door has to be gone before the next showing, say so when you text.

How does Dominic get broken concrete out of a backyard?

The concrete gets hauled out from wherever it is, whether that's a backyard behind a narrow gate or a side yard down a few steps. You don't need to stack anything by the driveway first. His helper is Jake. First comes the price, from your pictures or from a visit when the slab calls for one. After you say yes to it, the two of you pick a day and time. He arrives right on schedule, and his arrival window runs 30 minutes to an hour. Before the first piece comes up, he walks you through the plan, so you know what's breaking out and what stays. With the last chunk gone, he tidies the spot and walks the yard with you one more time. That's your chance to look over the bare ground before whoever pours the next slab or lays the sod gets there.

Where does the broken concrete go after it's hauled?

Rubble ends up at one of two landfills, Stead or Carson City, while the steel inside it heads to a scrap yard for recycling. Old slabs and footings often hold that kind of metal, and sometimes a sunk fence post too, so it gets sorted out of the rubble before the load is dumped. A pile of concrete has nothing in it for a thrift store shelf. If the yard also has a patio table or planters in good shape that you're done with, point them out in the photo. Those can go to Goodwill instead of riding to the dump with the rubble. Old paint cans stacked beside the slab can ride along on that trip as well. Those end up at Greymar, which handles the disposal. The few things he leaves behind on every job are listed in his take-and-leave list.

How much does concrete demolition cost in Reno?

The $80 minimum applies here too, and past that the price depends on the space the broken concrete fills on the truck. Send a picture of the slab or the rubble, and the quote covers the job from start to finish. Shoot it from a couple of angles so the size of the pile is clear. That figure already counts the loading, the haul and the disposal, with dump fees inside it. Your quote stands as given, unless the job turns out bigger than the picture made it look. A thick slab that a picture can't measure gets an in-person visit from Dominic before any price is set. The junk removal pricing guide explains how load size sets the price on every kind of job.

How far out will he go for a concrete job?

Up to 75 miles. From Reno, that covers the lake towns, Carson City and the desert valleys out to Fernley and Fallon. The towns he works run from Truckee down to Gardnerville. A patio at the lake or a walkway near Fallon is in range.

“Can’t say enough good things about Reno Junk Removal. Dom is very professional and responsive. He and Tyler came to my house the same day and picked up and hauled off a quarter of a garage worth of cardboard. The amount of time they saved me from trip after trip of taking it all to the dump was well worth the reasonable price. I highly recommend Reno Junk Removal.”

Questions

Questions about concrete demolition.

How much does it cost to remove a concrete slab?
Jobs start at the $80 minimum. Past that, the price follows the truck space the broken slab fills, with dump fees already in it.
Do I have to break up the concrete before pickup?
No. Concrete demolition is the job, so the slab can still be in the ground when you reach out. Text a photo to (775) 316-7470.
What happens to the rebar in an old slab?
It's recycled at a scrap yard. The rubble it came out of heads to the Stead or Carson City landfill.
Can someone look at the concrete before giving a price?
Yes. If pictures leave a question open, say the depth of the slab, he sets a time to look in person before the job goes on the calendar.
Does he do concrete jobs on Sunday?
No. Sunday is closed. Monday to Saturday he's available 24 hours, and he can come the same day most days.
How do I pay for concrete removal?
He takes cash, check, Venmo, Zelle, or a credit or debit card. Pick whichever is easiest for you.
