Dominic takes on interior demolition for homes in Reno and the rest of the Reno-Tahoe area, tearing out the old finishes ahead of a remodel. He pulls out the parts of the room you're replacing and hauls every piece away. Text a photo to (775) 316-7470. The cabinets come off the wall and the carpet comes up with its pad. The broken pieces leave with the load instead of sitting in a pile in your driveway.
The difference from a regular junk pickup is the tear-out that has to happen first. On a cleanout the stuff is already loose and ready to carry. Here, part of the room has to come apart, and it comes apart in heavy, awkward pieces with nails and screws still in them. If you already did the tear-out yourself and only need the pile gone, remodel debris removal is the better fit. When the job is only a kitchen, counters and all, kitchen demolition is written up as a job of its own.

What does an interior demolition job usually include?
It usually covers the finishes and fixtures you are replacing, taken out and hauled off together. A typical pile is upper and lower cabinets, chunks of countertop, a vanity and a toilet, rolls of carpet with the pad, old flooring, interior doors and trim, and cut sections of drywall. Some jobs are one bathroom. Others run through a whole floor of the house. If carpet is the only thing coming up, carpet removal is its own job. If just one wall of cabinets or a single vanity is going and the rest of the room stays, that leans toward selective demolition.
If you own the house, you want the old kitchen or bath gone before the new one goes in, and the tear-out and the haul handled in one job. Landlords tend to call between tenants, when tired carpet and banged-up cabinets have to be gone before the installer shows up.
How much does interior demolition cost in Reno?
The floor is $80. Beyond that, a tear-out is priced by how much truck space its debris fills. Tear-out debris is bulky, so a clear photo of the room before anything comes apart helps him see what is coming. A whole floor of the house rarely fits in one picture, so for that kind of job he comes by and quotes it in person.
His quote is for the entire tear-out, start to finish. It takes in the loading, the haul and the disposal, and the dump fees sit inside it rather than on a separate bill. That quote holds, unless the tear-out turns out bigger than your photo showed. Cash, check, Venmo, Zelle and credit or debit cards all work for paying him. The guide to what hauling costs around Reno walks through how truck space turns into a price.
What happens on the day of the tear-out?
It starts with your text. He asks what's coming out and, if your first pictures miss part of the room, asks for a few more. Once you approve the price he puts a day and time on the calendar, and he arrives on schedule, somewhere in a 30 minute to one hour window. Before the first cabinet comes off, he walks you through the work, and his helper Jake works the job alongside him.
Nothing has to be moved ahead of time. The pieces come out from where they are, a basement bathroom or the carpet in an upstairs bedroom included, and go down the stairs to the load. After the last piece is loaded he cleans up after himself and walks the empty room with you one last time, so you know the installer can start.
Where does the debris from an interior tear-out go?
The pile gets sorted, with donation first, before any of it heads to a landfill. Cabinets or doors that come out in good shape get set aside for Goodwill instead of going on the trash pile.
Metal from the job, like an old steel sink, goes to the scrap yard to be recycled. Snapped drywall and ripped-up carpet are headed for the dump, either the Stead landfill or the Carson City landfill. Leftover tile and countertop chunks that nobody can reuse count as trash and ride out with that load. Old cabinets often hide a few half-empty paint cans. Those leave with the job, and the paint goes to Greymar to be disposed of.
What won't he haul from an interior demolition job?
On a tear-out inside the house, asbestos is the big one. He doesn't remove it or haul it. If you think old floor tile or ceiling texture in the house might have it, say so when you text, so nobody plans a tear-out that can't happen.
He also turns down rooms with bed bugs or other pests, plus any medical or biohazard waste. Leave propane tanks out of the pile too, along with any other hazardous waste. The normal pieces of a tear-out, the cabinets, carpet, drywall, doors and fixtures, are what this job is for. If you're not sure about a stack of old tile, send a close-up of it with the room photo.
Will he take an interior demolition job up at Lake Tahoe or out in Fallon?
Yes. A job up to 75 miles out is within his range. That stretches from Reno and Sparks up to Incline Village, Truckee and South Lake Tahoe, east to Fernley and Fallon, and south to Gardnerville. Carson City, Dayton, Washoe Valley, Verdi and Stead are on the list too, along with Minden and Virginia City.
Tear-outs happen any hour Monday through Saturday, and never on a Sunday. He picks up the phone day or night, and he reaches jobs same day, most days. Text a photo to (775) 316-7470. You can look for your town on the full list of places he works.

“Can’t say enough good things about Reno Junk Removal. Dom is very professional and responsive. He and Tyler came to my house the same day and picked up and hauled off a quarter of a garage worth of cardboard. The amount of time they saved me from trip after trip of taking it all to the dump was well worth the reasonable price. I highly recommend Reno Junk Removal.”
“Arrived on time, and got the job done, extremely fair pricing. Would recommend to anyone in the area!”
“Dom is great. Good communication and fair pricing. Will definitely use his services again. Highly recommend!”
