Dominic does light demolition in Reno and across the Reno-Tahoe area, taking down small things that are built in and hauling off every piece. Text a photo to (775) 316-7470. What makes this different from a normal junk pickup is that nothing is loose yet. A row of old upper cabinets, a wall of dark paneling or a bar counter in the basement has to come apart before any of it can be loaded. When the job is done, you have an empty wall or an open corner instead of a pile of boards.
It's the right call when you're clearing the way for a remodel, or you manage a rental and the unit needs to be ready for the next tenant. It also fits the project you started and never finished, like a closet system half pulled out or a vanity sitting in the hallway. A whole garage or shed is a bigger job with its own page for garage and shed demolition, and an old deck or fence is covered under deck and fence demolition.
Small doesn't mean he'll turn it down. His own line is "No job too big or too small." Reno Tahoe Junk Removal has been in business since 2023. At the other end of the scale, the heaviest hauls so far include a 1,200 pound grand piano and an old 4,000 pound concrete mixer, so a single built-in bookcase is well within reach.

What counts as light demolition?
This is for the small stuff that's attached to your house or yard, like old cabinets, a built-in desk, garage shelving, a wood planter box or a small step that's rotting out. The pieces are fastened in place, which is why it takes more than lifting. Once it comes down, the pile is mostly lumber with nails still in it, broken drywall, trim, brackets and a few bags of small scrap. It all rides on a silver Ford pickup towing a black Texas Pride dump trailer, 16 feet by 7 feet with 4 foot sides, so the price follows how much of that trailer the pile fills. When the plan is to strip a room down to the studs, that's interior demolition, a bigger job than this one.
How much does light demolition cost in Reno?
Light demolition starts at the $80 minimum, and past that the price is set by how much room the debris takes on the truck. Send a photo of what needs to come down and Dominic quotes the whole job from it. Built-ins can hide things a picture won't show, so when a job needs it, he comes out and looks in person first. The quote holds unless the job turns out bigger than the photo showed, say a second layer of paneling behind the first. Loading, hauling and disposal are all inside that price, and dump fees are included rather than billed on their own. You can pay with cash, credit or debit card, Venmo, Zelle or check.
What won't he haul from a demolition job?
Asbestos is the big one on tear-out work, and he won't take it. Some older materials can contain it, and there's no telling by looking, so if you have any doubt about a wall, floor or ceiling, leave that part out of the job until you know. Propane tanks are off the list too, which matters when the job is a small structure out back where a tank may have been stored. Medical or biohazard waste stays behind. So does anything with bed bugs or pests, and pulling out an old cabinet or a wall panel is when a mouse nest or an infestation can show up. If that turns up, that part of the pile can't go on the truck.
Where does the debris from a tear-out end up?
Donation comes first. If a piece of the job is still good, like a solid cabinet or a shelf unit that came off the wall in one piece, it goes to Goodwill. Metal gets pulled out of the pile, so brackets, old railings, pipe and hardware go to a scrap yard to be recycled. Half-used paint cans from the garage or the closet go to Greymar for disposal. What's left after that is real trash, the broken lumber, crumbled drywall and scraps of trim, and it goes to the Carson City landfill or the Stead landfill.
How does a light demolition job go from the first text to the walkthrough?
It starts with a question about what needs to come down. He asks, looks at your pictures, and either gives an estimate or sets up a time to see it in person. Once you approve the price, you get a day and a time, and he's there when he said. Before anything gets pulled, he explains the work, so you know which cabinet comes off and what stays. Nothing has to wait at the curb. He carries it out from anywhere in the home, up from the basement or through a back hallway. The area gets cleaned up once the load is out. For a rental, the property manager can set the day, and the final walkthrough gives them a look at the cleared space.
How far will he drive for a small tear-out?
Up to 75 miles, which covers far more than Reno itself. A cabinet job in Sparks and a paneling job in Truckee, Incline Village or South Lake Tahoe are both in range, and so are Carson City, Gardnerville, Fernley and Fallon. You can check the full list of towns he drives to before you text. He answers the phone any time, day or night. Work runs Monday through Saturday, closed Sunday, and he gets to jobs the same day, most days, with a 30 minute to one hour arrival window. The 75 mile range is measured from his base in Reno, NV.

“Can’t say enough good things about Reno Junk Removal. Dom is very professional and responsive. He and Tyler came to my house the same day and picked up and hauled off a quarter of a garage worth of cardboard. The amount of time they saved me from trip after trip of taking it all to the dump was well worth the reasonable price. I highly recommend Reno Junk Removal.”
“Arrived on time, and got the job done, extremely fair pricing. Would recommend to anyone in the area!”
“Dom is great. Good communication and fair pricing. Will definitely use his services again. Highly recommend!”
