Dominic does house & garage cleanouts across Reno and the Reno-Tahoe area, from the packed two-car garage to the whole house. Text a photo to (775) 316-7470. This job is about whole spaces. Think of the garage where the car hasn't fit since you moved in, a spare room stacked with boxes, or a house being emptied before a sale. What comes out is a mix. Furniture, bins of old clothes, a dead treadmill, bikes, yard tools and the shelving it all sat on go out together.
If your parent moved somewhere smaller and the old house still holds decades of their things, that house can sit up to 75 miles from Reno and still be in his range. If you're a landlord clearing a unit between tenants, the eviction & rental property cleanout page fits better. When the house belonged to someone who passed, read the estate cleanout page instead.

What usually comes out of a house or garage cleanout?
A garage cleanout usually turns up boxes from the last move still taped shut, a chest freezer that quit, a broken mower and the workbench you never used. Add the paint cans on the shelf and a kid's bike two sizes too small. Inside the house it's the spare-room furniture, a basement full of holiday bins, old mattresses and the closet of clothes that don't fit anymore.
You don't have to sort anything first. Get the whole pile in your photos and point out anything that's staying. If you'd rather fill it yourself at your own pace, his 20 yard roll-off dumpster rents for $455 for one week, then $15 a day after that, with 4 tons included and $95 a ton past that.
What won't go on the truck from a garage cleanout?
In a garage, propane is the one that comes up, like the grill tank in the corner or the small cylinders in the camping bin. Anything with bed bugs or pests can't ride either, and that matters most with an old couch or mattress that sat out in the garage for a few seasons. Asbestos is refused, so leave out any old flooring or pipe wrap you're unsure about. Medical or biohazard waste is off the list as well.
Pull those aside before the day, or flag them in the photo so the quote only covers what's going. The leftover paint on the shelf is a different story. He'll haul those cans, usually at $10 to $20 apiece.
How does a full garage cleanout work on the day?
It starts with a message. Call or text at any hour, and he'll want to know what's going, plus a few pictures when the pile is hard to judge. After you say yes to the price, he puts you down for a set day and time. Expect him on time, somewhere inside a 30 minute to one hour window. He works with a helper, Jake. Before anything moves, he goes over what's leaving and explains the work.
Then everything gets carried out. Nothing has to be at the curb. The dresser in the upstairs bedroom, the boxes at the back of the basement and the freezer against the far wall of the garage all come out from where they are, stairs and tight hallways included. Once the last load is gone, he cleans up where the pile sat, then walks the empty garage or room with you before he goes.
Where does everything from a house cleanout go?
Donation comes first. Furniture and household goods that still have use go to Goodwill, and a house cleanout turns up plenty of those. The spare dresser and the kitchen table usually go there. Any metal heads to a scrap yard for recycling, and a garage tends to be loaded with it. Old bike frames, steel shelving, a dead water heater and the busted grill all count.
The paint cans from the shelf end up at Greymar, which handles their disposal. Only what's left after that, the real trash, heads to the landfill, either the one in Carson City or the one in Stead.
How much does a house or garage cleanout cost?
A cleanout starts at $80, and past that the price tracks how much of the truck your load fills. A few boxes and a bike sit near the bottom. A garage packed wall to wall takes far more of the space, and the price follows. To give you a sense of it, one couch on its own is usually $125 to $225, and one mattress $80 to $125. You send photos of the pile and get a quote for the whole job. When a job needs an in-person look, he comes out and quotes it there instead.
That quote already covers carrying it all out, the drive and the disposal, with dump fees included rather than added later. His quote holds unless the job turns out to be bigger than your photos showed, so wide shots that reach the back corners of the garage pay off. Pay by card, credit or debit, or with cash, a check, Venmo or Zelle. For more on how jobs get priced, read the junk removal cost guide for Reno.
Can you book a cleanout for a house up at Lake Tahoe?
Yes. From his base in Reno he'll go as far as 75 miles, and that reach covers the lake towns, with South Lake Tahoe and Stateline at one end and Incline Village, Kings Beach, Tahoe City and Truckee up north. It also reaches Carson City, Gardnerville and Minden to the south, and Fernley and Fallon to the east.
That range is useful when the house you're clearing isn't the one you live in, like a cabin at the lake or a parent's place down in Carson City. Before you text pictures of that garage, see if the town is on the list of places a cleanout can reach from Reno. Work days run Monday through Saturday, Sunday is closed, and getting there is same day, most days.

“I had a great experience with Dominic and Reno Junk Removal. Professional, reasonably priced, on time, same day service. My garage was filled with old toxic chemicals from the swimming pool and cans of paint that needed to be properly disposed of. What a relief it was to watch the mess disappear and to know it was not going to have a negative impact on the environment by just going into a landfill. Highly recommended!”
“He was responsive on text, gave me a quote from the images I sent, and able to pick up a load of stuff from our garage less than 48 hours after initial contact. Day of he was running late due to another job but texted ahead of time to let me know. Loaded stuff on his own and was off! Great service and a great price. Would definitely recommend.”
“Can’t say enough good things about Reno Junk Removal. Dom is very professional and responsive. He and Tyler came to my house the same day and picked up and hauled off a quarter of a garage worth of cardboard. The amount of time they saved me from trip after trip of taking it all to the dump was well worth the reasonable price. I highly recommend Reno Junk Removal.”
