Dominic does debris removal in Reno and across the Reno-Tahoe area, hauling off the mixed pile a project leaves behind. Text a photo to (775) 316-7470 to book it. This is the job for leftovers that aren't furniture or household junk. Think scrap lumber from a torn-out deck, broken concrete, old carpet rolled up in the garage and branches stacked after a yard cleanup. The pile is usually heavy and awkward, full of nails and sharp edges, and too much for a trash can or a few trips in the car.

The mix is what makes it its own job. A pile from one kind of work, like a kitchen tear-out or a winter's worth of fallen limbs, has its own page under construction debris removal or yard debris removal. This is the job for the heap with a bit of everything in it, where boards, rock, carpet and brush all ended up together behind the garage or along the side yard.

Most piles have been sitting a while by the time you call. The project is finished, and the stack by your fence has started to grow weeds. Get the whole pile in the picture you send, corners included, so the price covers all of it. It leaves on a silver Ford pickup towing a black Texas Pride dump trailer, 16 feet by 7 feet with 4 foot sides. Reno Tahoe Junk Removal has been hauling around Reno and Lake Tahoe since 2023.

From the full list of what goes on the truck: construction and remodel debris.

What's usually in a debris pile, and who calls to have it hauled?

A debris pile is the loose, mixed material left after building, tearing out or cleaning up, and the calls mostly come from homeowners and landlords. It's a different job from picking up a couch or a fridge. One heap might hold old fence boards, drywall scraps, a few chunks of concrete, carpet and pad, a cracked wheelbarrow and a tangle of branches, all mixed together.

Some piles come from a weekend project that got bigger than planned. Others turn up when a rental changes hands and the last tenant left a corner of the yard full. He also does light demolition and shed removal, so when an old shed is still standing by the pile, taking it down can be part of the same conversation. The handful of things that never go on the load are on the page of what stays and what goes.

Where does the debris go once it leaves your property?

Usable pieces go to donation first, at Goodwill. Metal goes to a scrap yard to be recycled, and in a debris pile that's usually rebar, old fence posts, gutters or a rusted grill frame. Leftover paint goes to Greymar for disposal, so the half-used cans from staining the old fence can go out with the same load.

Real trash, like rotted boards and brush tangled up with dirt, goes to the Carson City landfill or the Stead landfill. That keeps the metal and the usable pieces out of the ground.

How does a debris pile get loaded when it's behind the house?

By hand, from wherever it is now. Nothing has to be at the curb, so you don't need to drag broken concrete across the lawn or carry wet carpet up from the basement first. Stairs or a narrow side gate just mean more trips.

Dominic works with a helper, Jake. When you first reach out, he asks what needs to go. Once the price is approved, he sets a day and time and arrives inside a 30 minute to one hour window. He explains the work before starting, cleans up the area when the load is out and does a final walkthrough with you.

How much does debris removal cost in Reno?

Jobs start at $80, and past that the price is set by how much room the load takes on the truck. A few bags of brush and a short stack of boards sit near the low end. A heap of concrete and lumber that takes up most of the truck costs more. Text a photo to (775) 316-7470.

The price he sends from your picture covers the whole job, and it holds unless the job turns out bigger than the photo showed, say a second pile behind the shed that never made it into the shot. For a big site a photo can't cover, he comes out and quotes it in person. Loading, hauling and disposal are inside that price, and dump fees are never billed on top. Cash, credit or debit card, Venmo, Zelle and check all work.

How far out will the truck go for a debris haul?

Up to 75 miles for a job, so a pile in Carson City, Gardnerville or Minden is as easy to book as one in Reno. You can check the full list of towns he drives to before you send a picture.

He works Monday through Saturday and answers the phone any time, day or night. Pickup is same day, most days. Sunday is the one day off, so if you finish tearing out the old deck on a Saturday evening, plan on the pile going out once the week starts again.

“Can’t say enough good things about Reno Junk Removal. Dom is very professional and responsive. He and Tyler came to my house the same day and picked up and hauled off a quarter of a garage worth of cardboard. The amount of time they saved me from trip after trip of taking it all to the dump was well worth the reasonable price. I highly recommend Reno Junk Removal.”

Questions

Questions about debris removal.

What's the minimum charge for debris removal?
$80 is the minimum. Above that, the price follows how much of the truck the pile fills, with dump fees already part of it.
Do I have to move the pile to the driveway first?
No. He loads from the backyard, the side yard or the basement, so you leave everything where it is.
Will he haul old flooring that might have asbestos?
No. Asbestos is turned down, along with propane tanks, items with bed bugs or pests, and medical or biohazard waste.
How soon can a debris pile be picked up?
Same day, most days, Monday through Saturday. He shows up inside a 30 minute to one hour window.
Does any of the debris get recycled?
Yes, the metal does. It goes to a scrap yard to be recycled.
Can the shed come down before the pile is hauled off?
Yes. He does shed removal and light demolition too, so the structure and the pile can be handled together. Text a photo to (775) 316-7470.
