Dominic does pool demolition in Reno and the Reno-Tahoe area, breaking up what's left of an old backyard pool and hauling the debris away. Text a photo to (775) 316-7470 to book it. This job is heavier than almost anything else he hauls. The pile is mostly concrete from the deck and coping, plus the fence that ringed the water, the ladder and handrails, and the gear on the equipment pad. The load is heavy rather than bulky, and all of it comes out of the backyard.
He works with a helper, Jake, and on a load this heavy that second set of hands matters. The heaviest thing he's hauled so far was an old 4,000 pound concrete mixer, so a broken-up deck is familiar weight. If there's a patio slab or an old walkway on the lot too, the concrete demolition page covers breaking those out. You decide what goes, and the price is built around that pile.

What gets hauled away on a pool demolition job?
Concrete, first and last. The deck slab around the water, the coping along the edge and the chunks that come up once it's broken make up most of the load. Then come the pieces that were attached to all that concrete. That means the ladder, the handrails, a diving board, the fence panels and the gate. The equipment pad usually holds a pump, a filter and a run of pipe. Old covers and liners go too.
That mix is what makes this different from a garage cleanout or a furniture pickup. Nothing in it is light, and none of it leaves through a front door. If a spa was built into the pool or a hot tub sits beside it, it can ride along, and hot tub removal has its own page. If wood decking or the backyard fence is coming out the same week, deck and fence demolition covers that work.
How much does pool demolition cost?
Every job starts at the $80 minimum. Past that, the price is set by how much room the load takes on the truck, and a pool's deck and fence take up a good share of it. Loading, hauling and disposal are inside that number, and the dump fees are never billed on top of it.
You can text photos of the pile for a price. A pool is also the kind of job where he may come out and look before he quotes it, since a picture of the water doesn't show the side yard or how much deck is coming up. Either way the quote covers the whole job. His rule is that the quote holds unless the job turns out bigger than the photo showed, so shoot the equipment pad and the gate along with the pool itself. He takes cash, credit or debit card, Venmo, Zelle or check.
How do you get pool debris out of a fenced backyard?
By hand, through the gate. You don't drag anything to the driveway first. Dominic hauls the pieces out of the yard, around the side of the house and up or down the steps if the pool sits below the patio.
When you first reach him, he asks what needs to go and asks for pictures of the pool if he needs them, or sets up a visit where he sees the gate and the deck for himself. Once you approve the price, he sets a day and a time with a 30 minute to one hour arrival window. Before he starts, he explains which deck, coping and fence pieces are coming out. When the load is gone he cleans up and walks the yard with you, the empty deck area and the equipment pad included.
If you manage the property, tell him how the gate opens and who he should walk the yard with when the job is done. The few things he can't haul are listed on the what-we-take page.
Where does the debris from a pool job end up?
Usable pieces go to Goodwill, the metal goes to a scrap yard, and the rest goes to the Carson City landfill or the Stead landfill. Donation comes first, so a patio table or chairs from the pool deck that are still in good shape come off before anything else.
The ladder, the handrails, a metal fence and the gate go to the scrap yard to be recycled, which keeps the steel out of a hole in the ground. Wood from a deck or fence that's too rough to reuse rides with the trash, and that load heads to the landfill. You don't have to sort any of it yourself before the day. Point out what you'd like donated, and the rest is handled on the way out.
Does he do pool jobs outside Reno, up at the lake or out in Fallon?
Yes. He's based in Reno, in Washoe County, and drives up to 75 miles for a job, so a backyard pool in Sparks, Carson City, Incline Village, Truckee, Gardnerville or Fallon is in range, and the list of every town he covers has the rest.
He gets there the same day, most days, though a large pool may need the in-person look first, and that visit is what sets the day. A pool at a vacation house up at the lake works the same way as one in town. Tell him the town when you send the pictures.

“Can’t say enough good things about Reno Junk Removal. Dom is very professional and responsive. He and Tyler came to my house the same day and picked up and hauled off a quarter of a garage worth of cardboard. The amount of time they saved me from trip after trip of taking it all to the dump was well worth the reasonable price. I highly recommend Reno Junk Removal.”
“Arrived on time, and got the job done, extremely fair pricing. Would recommend to anyone in the area!”
“Dom is great. Good communication and fair pricing. Will definitely use his services again. Highly recommend!”
