Dominic owns Reno Tahoe Junk Removal and does junk removal in Reno and across the Reno-Tahoe area. This is the general job, built for a mixed pile. An old couch, a broken treadmill, boxes left from the last move and a dresser missing a drawer can all ride on the same load. Text a photo to (775) 316-7470 and say where the stuff is sitting. If your pile is a little of everything, this is the job for it.

Maybe your garage filled up over a few years, or a tenant moved out and left furniture and bags behind. Either way, you don't haul any of it out yourself. He and his helper, Jake, load it straight from the room it's in. Furniture, appliances, yard junk and boxes of odds and ends can share the load. Afterward he sorts it himself into Goodwill, scrap and landfill. If one piece gives you pause, check the guide to which furniture, appliances and household junk go on the truck.

The business has been running since 2023. The heaviest hauls so far include a 1,200 pound grand piano and an old 4,000 pound concrete mixer, and one day it was 144 mattresses. Your job can be a lot smaller than that. A carport with a few broken chairs and some bags counts too. His own line for it is "No job too big or too small." The steps are the same at either size. You see a quote before anything moves, and the pile goes once you say yes.

What usually ends up in a junk removal pile?

A typical pile is whatever has been waiting by the garage door. Appliances can go on the load too, from a dead washer to the old fridge that got replaced. A bag of old clothes can ride next to a broken patio table. That mix is what sets this job apart. A house or garage cleanout clears a whole space top to bottom. General junk removal is smaller than that, and bigger than a single couch. You point at what goes, and he carries each piece out from the spot it's in. The rest stays put. In a mixed pile, the couch and the mattress ride on the same quote as everything else.

How does a junk pickup go from the first text to the empty room?

Dominic starts with a question about what needs to go. He looks at your pictures and gives an estimate, or sets up an in-person quote when a photo won't show enough. Once you approve the price, he sets a day and time, and you get a 30 minute to one hour arrival window. He gets to most jobs the same day. He explains the work before anything gets lifted. The dresser upstairs and the boxes in the basement don't need to move first. When the load is out, he cleans up the area and does a final walkthrough with you.

Where does the junk go after it's hauled off?

Donation comes first, and the stuff that still has use in it goes to Goodwill. Metal gets pulled out and taken to a scrap yard to be recycled, so the old bed frame and the rusted grill end up as scrap instead of trash. Leftover paint is its own stop. It goes to Greymar for disposal. What's left after that is real trash, and it goes to the Carson City landfill or the Stead landfill. You don't need to split the pile into donate and toss before he gets there. The sorting is his job.

How much does junk removal cost in Reno?

The smallest load costs $80. Past that, the price comes from how much room your stuff takes on the truck. You send a photo, he sizes up the pile and quotes the whole job. Loading, hauling and disposal are inside the quote, and dump fees are included, so there's no second bill from the landfill. The quote holds unless the job turns out bigger than the photo showed. For a sense of scale, a couch usually runs $125 to $225 and a mattress $80 to $125. More examples sit in the junk removal pricing guide for Reno. He takes cash, credit or debit card, Venmo, Zelle or check.

What can't go on a junk removal load?

Propane tanks, asbestos, medical or biohazard waste and anything with bed bugs or pests stay off the load. That includes the old couch from the basement if something has been living in it. Leftover paint is different. He takes it, and a can usually runs $10 to $20. The dresser, the box spring and the bags of clothes next to them are all fine. If you aren't sure about something in the pile, put it in the photo and ask before the pickup day. That's easier to settle over text than standing in your garage.

Does a mixed pile at a lake cabin cost more to haul?

No. The price is set by how much room the pile takes on the truck, never by the town it sits in. He's based in Reno, in Washoe County, and drives up to 75 miles for a job. That reach covers the lake, from South Lake Tahoe and Stateline to Incline Village, Kings Beach, Tahoe City and Truckee. Farther out it reaches Fernley, Fallon, Dayton, Gardnerville and Minden, plus Virginia City and Silver City. A cabin near Kings Beach and a garage in Sparks get quoted the same way, by the space they fill. Pickups run Monday through Saturday, 24 hours, and Sunday is closed. He answers the phone any time, day or night. You'll find the full list of every town he drives to around Reno and the lake.

“I had a great experience with Dominic and Reno Junk Removal. Professional, reasonably priced, on time, same day service. My garage was filled with old toxic chemicals from the swimming pool and cans of paint that needed to be properly disposed of. What a relief it was to watch the mess disappear and to know it was not going to have a negative impact on the environment by just going into a landfill. Highly recommended!”

“Dominic’s service was top tier. Within an hour of calling him, he was at my house and ready to haul off the multitudes of junk including the rusty spool of wire left by previous owners, saving our puppy from an inevitable tetanus shot. They can’t be beat on price and they also provide services like snow removal and holiday light decorating. My husband is already looking in to their Christmas lights service. You can’t go wrong hiring these efficient professionals.”

“Can’t say enough good things about Reno Junk Removal. Dom is very professional and responsive. He and Tyler came to my house the same day and picked up and hauled off a quarter of a garage worth of cardboard. The amount of time they saved me from trip after trip of taking it all to the dump was well worth the reasonable price. I highly recommend Reno Junk Removal.”
